Two things before we start:

1. Before I start the lesson I just want to say that this is a 100% FREE COURSE.
Also, if you want to get ALL the lessons in this course in one organized place,
instead of going from post to post, you can click on the ‘Blogs Academy’
banner at the right side of the blog or go to BlogsAcademy.com instead,
and you will see there links which will direct you to ALL the current blogs posts.

2. The support for this course is not given by email, but rather through the comments system, so if you have a question or / and a comment about a certain lesson or / and about this course in general please write it in the comment box below, and I will personally answer your comment super fast.

Let us not waste any more time, and start the lesson:

In the previous lesson I have showed you how to purchase and install the Thesis theme, and then I have directed you to my personal graphic designer Steve who will create a unique header for your blog.

In this lesson I want to share with an Interview I did with Chris Guillebeau From The Art of Non-Conformity Blog who is one of the top bloggers in the world.

Chris also has an amazing blog design, and I really feel that you should check out his blog, and get inspired.

Enjoy!

QUESTION ONE

This question was submitted by David from OneLifeNoFear.com

Amir: If you were starting again, with no fame, no list just a domain and a wordpress blog, what three actions would you take to ensure the success of the blog quickly?

Chris: No one starts with fame, but everyone starts with a list. Your list consists of friends and family. Begin with writing to each of them, individually, and tell them about what you hope to accomplish with your project. Invite them to participate and help make it better. Then, when you go from 5 readers to 10, treat those 10 people like the most important people in the world. Make things that matter and have the potential to improve their lives.

QUESTION TWO

This question was submitted by lawmac from lawmacs.com

Amir: How simple is it in reality to make a living online? i still believe that we can earn on line but at what cost?

Chris: Nothing is simple. But at what cost is it to remain in a job you hate?

QUESTION THREE

Amir: In your point of view what are the best three methods to get traffic to your Blog / Clickbank site?

Chris: a. Do something that matters

b. Help your readers

c. Ask them to help you

QUESTION FOUR

Amir: For a newbie blogger, what advice can you give?

Chris: See above. Most important, always focus on the convergence between what you love to do and what other people are willing to pay for.

QUESTION FIVE

Amir: What is the number one reason that people fail on-line?

Chris: Lack of persistence. In many cases, it’s a numbers game in terms of sticking it out over the long-term.

**********************

Wow what a great interview – Thanks Chris!

Make sure you click here to check Chris’s site

**********************

Stay tuned to more great interviews, and please feel free to comment!

Before I leave I want to inspire you with a quote I found online from John Wayne that I feel is relevant to the entire course, and can inspire you when you go do the work I have outlined

That’s it, I will see you in on the next lesson.

QUOTE:

“…Courage is being scared to death – and saddling up anyway….” John Wayne

Hope this helps!

Three things before we start:

1. Before I start the lesson I just want to say that this is a 100% FREE COURSE. Also, if you want to get ALL the lessons in this course in one organized place, instead of going from post to post, you can click on the ‘Blogs Academy’ banner at the right side of the blog or go to BlogsAcademy.com instead, and you will see there links which will direct you to ALL the current blogs posts.

2. The support for this course is not given by email, but rather through the comments system, so if you have a question or / and a comment about a certain lesson or / and about this course in general please write it in the comment box below, and I will personally answer your comment super fast.

3. Welcome to the first ADVANCE lesson.

***************************************

In the ‘Blogs Academy 005: Install A Theme‘ lesson I have explained how you can install a FREE theme for you blog, and this is a great option.

Yet, you may have noticed that the disadvantage of a FREE theme is that it is………..well FREE.

Millions of bloggers just like you can have the exact same theme on their blog.

So, having a FREE theme on your blog will make your life very hard if you really want to differentiate youself from other bloggers (as I have mentioned in ‘Blogs Academy 001: Find A Good Niche‘).

So, I would HIGHLY recommend that you purchase a premium theme which you will be able to customize according to your own needs.

I have tried many premium themes over the years, and the one that I personally recommend and use myself is: Thesis.

In this lesson I want to show you step by step how to replace your current FREE theme with the Thesis PAID theme.

Here are the steps:

1. Go to the Thesis website.

2. Once you are on the Thesis website click the huge ‘SEE PLANS & PRICING’ orange button in the middle of the page.

3. Choose the option that fits your case, liking, and budget, (I have bought the ‘Developer’s Option’, yet the ‘Personal Option’ is great as well).

After you have made your choice click the ‘REGISTER & DOWNLOAD’ huge orange button under the option you have picked.

4. On the following page enter all your details, and then click the ‘Next Page’ orange button below the forum.

5. You will the be redirected to Paypal were you can pay via your Paypal account or Credit Card.

6. After you have made your payment you will be redirected to the ‘Thesis theme ‘Download Page’.

7. Once there just click the ‘click here to download Thesis 1.8.3.’ link to download the Thesis file (the 1.8.3. is the Thesis version number, and may change to a different number if Thesis will release new updates).

8. Then go to your blog’s admin area (http://www.yourdomain.com/wp-admin)

9. Go To the ‘ Install Themes‘ area (as you did in the lesson where you installed the FREE theme - Appearance -> Theme -> ‘Install Themes’ tab).

10. Then click the ‘Upload‘ Link.

Click the ’Choose File‘ button, and then locate the Thesis file you saved on your computer.

Once you find it, just click it, and then click the ‘open‘ button at the bottom.

Then just click the ‘Install Now‘ button, and finally the ‘Activate‘ button.

That’s it!

Now, I highly suggest that you get a unique design for your blog’s header.

You can contact my personal designer Steve to create a unique header for you for only $47.

Once you reach Steve’s site, click the ‘Graphics‘ option at the left side of the page, and this will direct you to the right place to order your header.

Then you can click here to learn how to upload the header to your blog.

All you really need to do after you upload the header is to customize your new Thesis theme according to your own personal needs.

I will go over how you do it in future lessons, but if you want to start right now, feel free to read the Thesis User’s Guide, and if you have specific questions feel free to comment below, and I will help you out super fast.

Let me end this lesson by giving you a checklist which summarizes what you need to do before starting the next lesson:

1) Install the Thesis them.

2) Upload a unique header.

If you have questions / comments please post them below this post, and I will address them super fast.

I want to share with you a short 3 questions interview I did with Pat Flynn (who is, like Yaro Starak and John Chow, one of the top bloggers in the world).

Enjoy!

QUESTION ONE

This question was submitted by David from OneLifeNoFear.com

Amir: If you were starting again, with no fame, no list just a domain and a wordpress blog, what three actions would you take to ensure the success of the blog quickly?

Pat: 1. Plan. Taking action is what you must do to make any progress, of course, but if you have a plan those actions can be guided and streamlined. The plan would be an understanding of how I would be finding a unique angle into the niche – a unique selling proposition, which is something I’ve have in every successful online business I’ve created so far. How can I stand out from the crowd – that’s what I’d have to figure out first.

2. Create content like a machine. As I always say, the more you write, the more chances you will be found – not just by search engines, but other people who are influenced by your word. But it goes beyond just writing on a blog. In my experience, creating video and audio content simultaneously makes things move even faster, and rounds out the brand right (and turns you into more of an authority figure) much quicker.

3. Develop and nourish relationships with other bloggers in the niche. Business is all about connections (i.e. who you know) and it’s no different in the blogosphere. The trick is to not force things – just make friends, and things will happen naturally.

QUESTION TWO

Amir: In your point of view what are the best three methods to get traffic to your Blog / Clickbank site?

Pat: 1. Write epic and unique content.

2. Connect with readers outside of the blog through social media, like Facebook and Twitter.

3. Other untapped media, such as YouTube and Podcasting.

QUESTION THREE

Amir: What is the number one reason that people fail on-line?

Pat: This is a tough question because there are a lot of answers on so many different levels, but I’d have to say the main reason is because they fail and they consider that the end.

Failing is just the beginning – it’s part of the process. It’s inevitable.

Those who drive forward through those failures, learn from their mistakes and continue to take action even after meeting those hurdles are going to be the ones that succeed. If you talk to any successful entrepreneur (online or offline), and they tell you the truth of their journey, they will expose a whole number of failures that led them to where they are today.

Bottom line, the number one reason that people fail is because failure is an option for them.

Let us not waste any more time, and start the lesson:

I want to share with you a great interview I did with John Chow (who is, like Yaro Starak, one of the top bloggers in the world).

Enjoy!

QUESTION ONE

This question was submitted by David from OneLifeNoFear.com

Amir: If you were starting again, with no fame, no list just a domain and a wordpress blog, what three actions would you take to ensure the success of the blog quickly?

John: I would commit to a consistant posting frequency first and formost. Too many bloggers get gung-ho and post like mad for the first few weeks/month and then stop when they see no results. Blogging is a marathon, not a 100 meter dash. My blog made nothing and barely got 1000 page views per day after eight months of blogging. Most would have quit long before then. You have to make stick to it.

Next, I would come up with a marketing plan for the blog. Too many bloggers think all you have to do is build the blog and readers will come. They won’t. You can have the best blog in the world, but if nobody knows about it, it won’t do you much good.

Lastly, I want to make sure I deliver value to my readership. You online income will be directly related to how much value you deliver. The more value you give, the more you’ll make.

QUESTION TWO

This question was submitted by lawmac from lawmacs.com

Amir: How simple is it in reality to make a living online? i still believe that we can earn on line but at what cost?

John: The formula itself if quite simple. It’s the execution that screws people up. Tons of people have great ideas but don’t know how to execute it. When I decided to monetize my blog, I went from zero to $3,000 a month in only four months. It’s all about execution.

QUESTION THREE

Amir: In your point of view what are the best three methods to get traffic to your Blog / Clickbank site?

John: There are basically two types of traffic: paid and free. Most bloggers show us free methods because of limited funds. A new blogger should work on ranking on Google for their keywords. That will require they spend time building links, which is time consuming but will pay off in the end.

QUESTION FOUR

Amir: For a newbie blogger, what advice can you give?

John: Pick a topic that you’re passionate about. Blogging is not a get rich quite scheme. If you’re not passionate about your topic, you won’t stick with it long enough to build your readership.

QUESTION FIVE

Amir: Why is the number one reason that people fail on-line?

John: They’re too busy trying to make a quick buck instead of trying to delivery value.

I want to thank John so much for taking the time to share his thoughts with us.

Before I leave I want to inspire you with a quote I found online from Mike Litman that I feel is relevant to the entire course, and can inspire you when you go do the work I have outlined

That’s it, I will see you in on the next lesson.

Let us not waste any more time, and start the lesson:

Before I start with the advance lessons, I want to share with you a great interview I did with Yaro Starak (one of the top bloggers in the world).

Enjoy!

QUESTION ONE

This question was submitted by David from OneLifeNoFear.com

Amir: If you were starting again, with no fame, no list just a domain and a wordpress blog, what three actions would you take to ensure the success of the blog quickly?

Yaro: I started my blog with no list, no fame and just a domain name, so it’s not any different except that the market is more crowded, however there is a lot more information on how to do it well.

The three actions I would take if I was focused on speed of success are:

1. Make sure I have a content schedule and stick to, producing content that is extremely focused and of a higher quality than anyone else out there in my niche.

2. Form strategic partnerships as quickly as I can with the other top people in my market, specifically by doing guest articles that are just plain brilliant and interviews with the top people. Again I’d focus on doing a better job than anyone else is.

3. I’d make sure the market I was entering was something I already knew about and had experience in, or was presently gaining lots of experience in, so I have the best stories to tell. There’s no point being just like everyone else and only those who have real practical insights can produce the best content, so I’d have to get lots of experience and keep having new experiences (in fact this never ends if you want to stay on the top).

QUESTION TWO

This question was submitted by lawmac from lawmacs.com

Amir: How simple is it in reality to make a living online? i still believe that we can earn on line but at what cost?

Yaro: The word “simple” is way too subjective to accurately answer this question. What is simple for me online is near impossible for my mother and father as they have trouble just using the windows operating system.

In my opinion as a means to make a living, starting an online business definitely has the lowest cost, but to say it is simple depends on where you are coming from.

To make money all you have to do is create a website, build an audience and then sell them something. That’s simple right? In principle yes, in practice maybe not, especially if you don’t even know how to set up a website. Everything is relative and everyone has new things to learn. Personally I don’t know any other methods that are more fun than having an online business, so I think it’s the best.

QUESTION THREE

Amir: In your point of view what are the best three methods to get traffic to your Blog / Clickbank site?

Yaro: The best sources of traffic I know of are affiliates, joint venture partnerships and pay per click marketing, if you are talking about speed.

Search engines is the best source of free passive traffic I know of.

In my case I like to combine as many methods as I can, so I produce content to attract traffic from search engines, I leverage affiliates to build my list and I do strategic joint venture partnerships so get buyers, the best source of traffic there is.

QUESTION FOUR

Amir: For a newbie blogger, what advice can you give?

Yaro: Focus on giving your best value first without asking for anything in return. Do this on your own blog content first, then give some of your best ideas to others in the form of guest articles and free reports. Then once you are ready, interview other people and just keep doing all these things.

It also helps to start off with a well optimized blog, so I recommend wordpress.org with a good design and some key search engine plugins, like the all in one seo pack.

QUESTION FIVE

Amir: Why is the number one reason that people fail on-line?

Yaro: Giving up before they have a chance to succeed. If you don’t achieve what you want to, it’s because you decided to stop working towards it, nothing else.

Thanks for the interview!

Yaro Starak
http://www.entrepreneurs-journey.com

Thank you also Yaro for this outstanding interview!

Stay tuned to more great interviews, and please feel free to comment!

Before I leave I want to inspire you with a quote I found online from Stephen King that I feel is relevant to the entire course, and can inspire you when you go do the work I have outlined

That’s it, I will see you in on the next lesson.

QUOTE:

“…In truth, I’ve found that any day’s routine interruptions and distractions don’t much hurt a work in progress and may actually help it in some ways. It is, after all, the dab of grit that seeps into an oyster’s shell that makes the pearl, not pearl-making seminars with other oysters…” Stephen King

The support for this course is not given by email, but rather through the comments system, so if you have a question or / and a comment about a certain lesson or / and about this course in general please write it in the comment box below, and I will personally answer your comment super fast.

Let us not waste any more time, and start the lesson:

In a few days I am going to post the ‘Blogs Academy’ advance lessons, yet before I do I want to share with you this short lesson which I feel would be very helpful to you if you are struggling with procrastination when it comes to publish new content.

A simple method that has really helped me to deal with procrastination is the ‘Accountability Method’.

The ‘Accountability Method’ is actually quite simple to implement because all you need to do in order to implement it is to change the order of what you are already doing.

Let me explain what I mean.

Blog Posts – In the past, when I wrote new blog posts I used to:

Step 1) Write the post.

Step 2) Edit the post (while writing it)

Step 3) Publish the post.

This seemingly simple process has taken me a LONG time to complete , because while I was writing (and editing) the post I used to procrastinate by doing other unrelated things, such as going to websites like Google, Youtube, Facebook, etc…

One day I have decided that I am going to try something new.

I have decide to do Step 3 BEFORE Step 2.

I would write the post as fast as I can, then I would click my blog’s ‘Publish‘ button (this puts my content online), and only then I would edit my new (now live) post.

Before I used this method I would struggle to even write a single blog post, yet after I have decided to try this method, I have wrote countless blog posts, and have produced several online courses.

Speaking of online courses, let me explain to you how I have implemented this method with creating my online courses:

Before I have implement this method, I have used to create ALL the lessons of the course, and once all the courses were complete, I would promote my course.

Yet, it has taken me months to produce a single course because I have kept doing other things (as I have explained before).

So, my first course (The Flip Course) has taken me several months to create using the old method, yet all the other following courses have taken me less than a single month to create (each one) because I have implemented the ’Accountability Method‘ on them.

The way I have implement the ’Accountability Method‘ with creating my online courses has not been very different than how I used it to create my blog posts.

BEFORE I knew The Method:

Step 1) I had created ALL the lessons.

Step 2) I had edit each lesson while writing it.

Step 3) I had put a payment link, and started getting orders.

AFTER I knew The METHOD:

Step 1) I have put a payment link, and started getting orders.

Step 2) After I have got the first order I have created the first lesson, and then I have put the first lesson in the course members area, and then submitted an additional lesson to the members area each day afterwards (of course I have notified people on both sales page and members area that this is how I am going to submit the content for this course).

Step 3) – If a member contacted me regarding a certain lesson which he / she felt was not clear, I edited the appropriate lesson.

That is the whole method.

Just doing the same things you do in a different order.

Why the ”Accountability Method’ works?

I feel that this method works because (as you can guess by its name) it makes you accountable.

Blog posts: when you click the ‘publish‘ button you know that your content is LIVE on the Internet which means that people who come to your blog will be able to see it.

You also know that you have not edited your post, which means, that you may have written something that will make you look bad.

So, I feel that many people wouldn’t want to look bad in public, so they would drop anything else until their blog post will look good.

They will not even consider doing other things (such as watching videos on Youtube) before they will FIX this blog post which is currently making them look bad.

Course Creation - the same thing goes when creating online lessons, yet if you charge money for the lessons the ‘Accountability Method’ works even better.

You know that if you will not stand true to your word, and keep creating new content as you promised, people are going to ask for refunds, and you will destroy your online reputation.

I guess you see by now, that he ”Accountability Method’ is really… nothing new (just common sense).

It is build on the ‘Pain versus Pleasure’ principle.

We are always trying to pursue pleasure, and do whatever we can to avoid pain.

We go to Youtube to watch a clip, instead of producting a blog post / lesson that we know will help our blog grow, because there is LESS pain in doing so, (there is some pain because in the back of our head we know that we are not doing what we need to do right now – write the blog post / lesson ) yet watching videos on Youtube becomes suddenly VERY painful if we know that by doing so we are not fixing a post that makes us look bad.

Before I leave I want to inspire you with a quote I found online from Tony Robbins that I feel is relevant to the entire course, and can inspire you when you go do the work I have outlined

That’s it, I will see you in on the next lesson.

QUOTE:

“…The secret of success is learning how to use pain and pleasure instead of having pain and pleasure use you. If you do that, you’re in control of your life. If you don’t, life controls you..” Tony Robbins

Hope this helps!

Because of my free Blogs Academy course I have lately began to write longer blog posts, yet this post is going to be short and to the point.

Before I start I just want to say that my first question is obviously not personal, and may not apply to you, but the second question is.

In this post I just want to get your answer to this question which interests me immensely:

Why have you given up?

I am not asking why have you given up on selling websites (while you were leaning my course, or while you were implementing my course, but in general, why have you given up on any kind of idea you had in life (not have to be in business)?

I am asking this question because I feel that one of the main reasons why people fail is because they give up after a few days/weeks/months/years of following a certain plan of action.

If you honestly say that you have never given up on plan, then my question is:

“Why do you think other people give up when at first they are usually very enthusiastic about their idea?”

I would love to read your comments below.

Thanks

On January 18, I have wrote this blog post in which I have explained how sellers on Flippa can try to remove negative / natural feedback from their Flippa account.

Shortly after writing this blog post I have received a comment from Ophelie (Digital Marketer at Flippa), and I thought I will share here her comment, and my reply to her comment if you didn’t see it in the original post.

Enjoy!

**************************************************************************

Hi Amir — Ophelie from Flippa here.
You have some great advice here regarding how to approach unsatisfied buyers (in a calm manner).
I wanted to take a second to mention the reasons why we implemented Site Quality Feedback.

Since regular feedback is left only a few days after the transaction, we were noticing a subset of sellers who would promise ongoing support with the sale, then disappear as soon as positive feedback was left. We also noticed sales where paid traffic wasn’t disclosed in the listing, and then suddenly stopped after feedback was left.

The goal of Site Quality feedback is to provide buyers with a way to evaluate the long-term quality of their purchase and of the seller.

It’s still a relatively new system, and we’re definitely open to suggestions as to how to refine it. I’ve noted your comments, you raise some valid points.

**************************************************************************

Hi Ophelie,

It’s actually quite refreshing to see that you take the time to come to blogs, and comment on your users posts.

I really mean it – many big companies will just ignore this.

Now, regarding your reply…

Even without being an employee at your company I can guess that your claim is correct when you say that sellers took advantage of your previous feedback system.

Yet, I don’t think that you should have changed your entire feedback system so drastically that you have actually hurt many honest sellers just because of a few bad apples.

Maybe the scope of the problem was bigger that I can now imagine, yet like with anything else in life most people are honest.

I actually talked with another high volume seller on Flippa about this, and she told me that she just can’t understand why you are treating sellers so badly.

I am sorry if I sound to harsh by saying the following, but the only reason that I am still selling websites at Flippa nowadays is because there isn’t any other place to go. Flippa, as I see it, is the best marketplace online when it comes to selling websites.

It is just so frustrating that after 3 years of working so hard on making my feedback 100% positive, my feedback has now dropped to 98% just because buyers take advantage of your new feedback system.

The negative feedback I now get on my profile is either false or irrelevant.

Maybe I could live with that if I could actually reply to a negative feedback by stating my side of the story, yet I can’t.

Well, thank you very much for taking the time to post your comment here, and present your side in this.

Thanks!
